Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has admitted that he is finding sustained time on the subs bench tough to take, but still believes that his long-term future belongs in Turin rather than Premier League champions Manchester United.
.
Marchisio has been linked with a £20m switch to Old Trafford consistently during the past fortnight, with Paul Pogba, Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal providing formidable competition for a starting spot in Juve’s three-man midfield.
.
Manchester United manager David Moyes made a personal check on Marchisio during last weekend’s Serie A clash between Juve and Cagliari, with the Italian international coming off the bench to score his first goal of the season in a 4-1 victory for the Old Lady.
.
The 27-year-old has started just 10 Serie A matches in the first half of the campaign but is adamant that he remains committed to Juve, despite voicing concerns at a lack of regular playing time as rumours of a switch to Old Trafford persist.
.
He told Sky Sport Italia: “It’s normal that my goals increase my estimation [for playing time], however, as I have always said my desire is to be here and be available.
.
“My teammates know that I am ready to contribute in training and in matches.
.
“The bench is never easy to accept, but everyone wants to make a contribution.”
.
United boss Moyes has been on a sustained scouting mission in the past three days, watching Juve on Sunday before switching to the south of France for Bordeaux’s Coupe de France clash with Paris Saint- Germain last night.
