Juventus Could’ve Scored More At Old Trafford – Allegri

Massimiliano Allegri has said his side should have beaten Manchester by more than the 1-0 scoreline they left Old Trafford with.

Paulo Dybala’s first half goal was enough for the Bianconeri to secure the victory and maintain their 100 percent start to this season’s Champions League. The visitors dominated possession; and Allegri said that better decisions in the final third could have led to a bigger winning margin.

“We were very good in the air, with [Giorgio] Chiellini and [Leonardo] Bonucci, whilst I liked Alex Sandro a lot — both in the defensive phase and from a technical point of view,” Allegri said. “We could also have made it 2-0 but we made mistakes with the final ball on more than one occasion.

“We need to find different ways to get to the area and not give points of reference. We did it well even if in attack, we make too many mistakes and need to be more concrete.”

United stand-in skipper Ashley Young, however, has said he felt his side controlled the match, and that they can get a good result when the two sides meet in Turin on Nov. 7 with a similar approach.

“It was a disappointing result,” Young said. “We didn’t do well enough in the first half but I felt we improved massively in the second. We dominated after half-time and controlled the game, but it wasn’t enough.

“I think we need to approach the next game [against Juventus] in exactly the same way. We need to go there, control the game like we did in the second half and try to win the game.

“There are still plenty of points to play for in the group. We’re in a decent position still, so there’s all to play for. There are plenty more games in the group and we need to finish strongly.”
