With Juventus facing Bayern Munich in just over six weeks for a place in the Champions League quarterfinals, who better than a legend from the Old Lady’s glory days to talk about its chances? Alessandro Del Piero spoke at length to the Gazzetta dello Sport today about Juventus, Bayern, and Serie A’s chances of competing with other European Leagues. Oh, and the small matter of Napoli, Fiorentina, and that Paul Pogba chap.
”I think it’s a bit early to start giving Juventus tips. A lot of things can change in two months. I think that having so much time to prepare the game will be important. In any case, it’s better to meet a team like Bayern now in the Round of 16 than later on in the season. Juventus have everything they need to do well at home against the Bundesliga giants, the stadium and the crowd are a factor and they can give the team a decisive push. There are ways of preparing for this game from a psychological perspective, too, and cover all the bases”.
