Juventus have moved to try to hijack Inter Milan’s deal for Arsenal for Shkodran Mustafi, reports have said.
Inter have been fronting the chase for Mustafi as they look to bring the Germany international to Serie A.
However, Juventus have now got into the race for Mustafi as the Italian champions aim to improve their defensive options before the close of the transfer window.
Juventus are yet to replace Leonardo Bonucci following his shock switch to AC Milan and have made a bid for Schalke’s Benedikt Howedes, but sources have said they are also considering Mustafi.
Arsene Wenger is ready to sell Mustafi as long as he receives most of the £35 million he spent to sign the defender from Valencia last summer.
