Miralem Pjanic is not taking any notice of rumours surrounding his future amid reports Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester City are lining up bids.
However, speaking at Adidas’ flagship store in New York, Pjanic said he was paying no attention to transfer gossip, although he stopped short of saying he will definitely be staying at Juve.
“I listen to a lot of things that are not true,” Pjanic said. “I’m cool. I’m preparing my new season. That’s what’s the most important. What I did the last two seasons for Juventus was really great, and I am happy what I’m doing here.
“I am cool … and I don’t care about what they are writing because I listen and I read a lot of things, and a lot of things are not true.”
Pjanic joined Juve from Roma two summers ago in a deal worth €32 million and still has three years remaining on his contract.
He said he is looking forward to playing with Ronaldo in the coming season.
“We are happy that he’s there,” Pjanic said. “I give him just a welcome. He will in a couple of days start his preseason, and, of course, I think Juve did a big signing, and the team are happy, he’s happy, so I think he will do what he did also in the past, what he did at Man [United] and Real Madrid.
“He won a lot of titles. He did big and great things, and I think he will continue like that. He’s a great player, and I think he can help a lot his new club. I think he will give a lot to Juventus.”
With Ronaldo on board, Juve are aiming to win the Champions League for the first time since 1996, although Pjanic said the competition is more intense than ever — with or without the forward.
“We know the Champions League is very difficult,” Pjanic said. “You have to play against clubs like Barcelona, who are very tough to play, Real Madrid, Bayern, Paris, so you have a lot of clubs who can win this Champions League.
“You have to be in form. You have to play well and deserve simply to be in the final. It’s not easy, but I think the team are good. Let’s see what happens. The team will, of course, try to win everything. But it’s never easy.”
