Kaduna State Government Appoint 11 New Permanent Secretaries

As part of the Kaduna State Government’s civil service reforms to enhance output, Gov. Nasiru El-Rufai has approved the appointments of 11 new permanent secretaries into the service.

This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Samuel Aruwan, the Special Assistant to the governor on Media and Publicity, and made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday.

The statement said six other permanent secretaries had been redeployed while three others were retained in their ministries.

“The new permanent secretaries are: Esther Sawok, (Women Affairs); Mahmud Yamusa,(Budget and Planning); Esther Christopher, (General Services in the office of the SSG) and Victoria Galadima, (Water Resources).

Others are: Musa Adamu ( Youths, Sports and Culture); Ibrahim Jere, (Health and Human Services); Nuhu Buzun, (Commerce, Industry and tourism; while Garba Mamman is Permanent Secretary, Political and Economic Affairs).

“Mahmud Zailani is now in charge of Establishment and Service Matters; Kande Bage goes to the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB); while Idris Nyam, goes to the Ministry of Finance,’’ it said.

The statement said Adamu Mansur had been redeployed from the Cabinet Affairs and Security to Education, Science and Technology.

It added that Ja’afaru Sani moved from the Ministry of Political and Economic Affairs to the Cabinet Affairs and Security.

It added that Ambisa Adze was moved from General Services to the Civil Service Commission; Bariatu Mohammed was redeployed from the Establishments and Management Services to the Ministry of Works, Transport and Housing;

According to the statement, Hauwa Usman Umar was moved from Ministry of Women Affairs to Environment and Natural Resources, while Ibrahim Sambo had been moved from SUBEB to Local Government Affairs.

It stated said that Lukman Musa of the Public Service Office; Abdulkadir Kassim of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry; and Aishatu Mohammed, the state Solicitor-General/Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice retained their offices.

The statement said that Peter Bakam, former Permanent Secretary for Budget and Planning and Tijani Yusuf, formerly of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and Aminu Lere, formerly of the Ministry of Finance, were retired from the service.

The statement said the governor had approved the appointment of Dr. Paul Manya Dogo as the Chief Resident Consultant, Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital, to facilitate its transformation to a full-fledged teaching hospital.

It said the governor conveyed the state government’s appreciation to the retired permanent secretaries for the services they rendered to the state and wished them well in their future endeavours.
