Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has approved the disbursement of vehicles to primary and secondary school teachers under a special ₦200 million loan scheme aimed at improving their welfare and working conditions.
The development was announced in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, following the official flag-off ceremony for the distribution of instructional materials to public schools in the state.
“Providing vehicles for our teachers is a strategic step toward improving their working conditions and encouraging dedication to duty,” the statement quoted Governor Yusuf as saying.

He described teachers as the bedrock of national development and emphasized his administration’s unwavering commitment to improving their welfare through targeted interventions.
“Teachers are the backbone of every progressive society. Their welfare is non-negotiable if we must achieve quality education for our children,” he added.
The vehicle loan scheme is one of several teacher-focused initiatives under the governor’s broader education reform agenda.
Governor Yusuf also revealed that the state government recently spent ₦2 billion on the procurement of instructional materials, which were distributed to public schools across Kano, as part of efforts to enhance teaching and learning environments.
The governor reiterated that his administration remains committed to revamping the education sector and ensuring that teachers receive the support necessary to deliver quality education in the state.
