Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has approved the immediate dissolution of the Board of the Kano State Consumer Protection Council.
The decision was announced in a statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Musa Tanko Muhammad.
According to the statement, the dissolution followed a prolonged leadership crisis within the council, despite several efforts to restore peace and ensure effective administration.

“With this directive, the Chairman, Executive Secretary, and all members of the Board, including Ex-Officio members, are hereby relieved of their appointments with immediate effect,” the statement read.
The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Faruk Ibrahim, directed all affected officials to hand over the affairs of their offices and any government property in their possession to the most senior officer of the council by the close of work on Monday, October 27, 2025.
He further instructed that all handover notes be submitted to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government — Research, Evaluation, and Political Affairs Directorate — as well as to the Commissioner for Investment and Commerce.
