Hashimu Dungurawa, chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party in Kano State, has responded to news of the purported suspension of the party’s national leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
In a press conference on Tuesday, Dungurawa assured reporters that Kwankwaso had not been expelled from the party and that “right now, he is attending a well-represented NEC meeting of the party in Abuja.”
The claims of suspension are baseless and harmful to his character, he said, because Kwankwaso is well regarded inside the NNPP and seen as a respectable leader.
The statement that “Kwankwas is the leader of the party and for somebody to come out with a fake news of his suspension is tantamount to dragging his names and hard earned reputation into the mud” was quoted.
There was nothing of the such, he stressed, adding, “I am currently in Abuja where the party executive is holding a meeting.”
