Kanye West was not subbing Taylor Swift with the t-shirt he wore on Friday, despite speculation from a number of people. According to a rep for the performer, he was actually flaunting his love of vintage clothing.
Shortly after Swift released “Look What You Made Me Do,” which was said to be about the rapper and his wife Kim Kardashian, West left his house wearing a shirt with “She Is Beyond Good And Evil” printed on the back. Several people linked the clothing’s message to his beef with Swift. A popular site used the headline, “Kanye West Takes Shot At Taylor Swift… From Behind.”
“Kanye West let his shirt do the talking Friday and the target was clearly Taylor Swift,” the site declared, writing, “Kanye hit up Nobu in Malibu with some buds, wearing a tee emblazoned with the words, ‘She’s beyond Good and Evil.’ So the question… Who else?” The online publication further said West’s style choice seemed “pretty premeditated.”
Breaking news now is had the outlets bothered to investigate, they would’ve learned that there there’s no beefy meaning to the quote, nor any mischeivous reason for wearing it. “It’s just a vintage T-shirt. Kanye likes vintage T-shirts,” the star’s rep said. And the band’s front man Mark Stewart was so happy to see West wearing it, he tweeted out one of the photos. The Pop Group’s main Twitter account also noted the wardrobe choice, as did their record label. This was an intersection between fashion and music, but one that had nothing to do with Swift.
