Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has pledged unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, declaring that the president will secure significantly more votes in the state during the 2027 general elections than he did in 2023.
Idris made the statement on Thursday at the Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi during an event marking the second anniversary of his administration.
The governor lauded President Tinubu for the renewed federal presence in Kebbi, saying the state is now witnessing tangible infrastructural and developmental progress under the current administration.

“Before the emergence of the Tinubu administration, Kebbi had not enjoyed such a level of federal intervention,” he said. “With what we are seeing today in terms of projects and development, the people of Kebbi have no reason not to support the president’s second-term bid.”
He vowed that Kebbi would triple the votes delivered to Tinubu in the last presidential election, a statement that drew loud applause from the crowd.
“You hardly see a state where four former and serving governors come under one roof. This clearly shows Kebbi is an APC stronghold,” he added.
The event was attended by a host of political stakeholders, further underscoring the state’s firm alignment with the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 polls.
