Nigeria international, Kelechi Iheanacho, has signed a contract extension at Manchester City which will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2021.
Iheanacho has been rewarded for a fantastic 2015-16 campaign with City after breaking into the squad and churning up impressive performances.
He scored 14 goals in all competitions from 11 starts, a feat which has seen the 19-year-old earn a new contract with the Citizens that extends his foreseeable future at the club to the next five years.
Via official channels, Man City announced on Thursday that the Nigerian has signed an extension with the club.
“Striker Kelechi Iheanacho has signed a new two-year contract extension with City,” the club announced on Thursday.
“The 19-year-old Nigeria international, who scored 14 times in all competitions last season, is one of the game’s finest young forwards and will now stay at the club until at least 2021.”
An elated Iheanacho, who is regarded as one of the hottest young prospects in the world, expressed his delight at inking a new deal.
“I can’t express how I’m feeling. I’m very happy to sign my new deal for this club, I’m excited,” he told the club’s website.
“I just need to keep working hard and express my feelings on the pitch, and work really well and do great things for the team.
“I’m happy and I appreciate everything the club has done for me so far at this point so I really need to help and work for them as well.”
