On Thursday, May 26, 2016 Khloe Kardashian filed for divorce from her husband former NBA star Lamar Odom.
This is the second time the reality star is filing for divorce. In December 2013, Khloe Kardashian filed for a divorce but didn’t finalize the process. Khloe didn’t finalize the divorce after the former basketball star was found unconscious on October 13, 2015 at Love Ranch in Nevada.
Obviously while he was close to death, Khloe couldn’t have pulled the final trigger. She rallied by his side and helped him recover smoothly. When he was discharged from the hospital, Lamar Odom moved into a house that Khloe Kardashian leased for him.
Since then Khloe Kardashian has been a shoulder for him to lean on. She has always been the one footing his bills. However in April, Khloe expressed fears that Lamar Odom was going back to his old ways of drinking.
“Khloé and the family are concerned Lamar could go back to his old ways,” a source reveals to Us Weekly after the 36-year-old basketball player had reportedly been spotted buying drinks for friends at Johnny O’Brien’s pub in Los Angeles on March 26, 2016, before attending Easter service with the Kardashians the next day.
Back then she was seriously considering whether she should divorce the former LA Lakers star. Well, her days of consideration are over. In her divorce papers she cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as her reason for finally splitting from Odom.
Unlike the past divorce proceeding, Lamar Odom was aware that his wife wanted to file for divorce and gave her his blessings. Khloe is filing this divorce proceeding a week after he was seen drinking in a bar in Los Angeles.
After six months, Khloe and Lamar would be officially divorced. Their love story started with a big bang and a well glamorized wedding ceremony. Unfortunately their union could not stand the test of Hollywood and reality television.
Barring a spectacular turnaround, it is over for Khloe and Lamar.
