A faction of the Labour Party led by Nenadi Usman has announced the suspension of 26 members believed to be loyal to the camp of former national chairman, Julius Abure.
The Nenadi Usman-led Caretaker Committee, which it said is recognised by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, disclosed this in a post on its official X handle.
According to the statement, the suspensions were approved by the National Executive Council of the faction.

The development follows the April 4, 2025 judgment of the Supreme Court, which removed Abure as the party’s national chairman.
The affected members include Eneyi G. Zidougha, Hilda Doukubo, Lincolin Charles, Muhammed Sabitu Aliyu, Ogar Osim, Vincent Okwuokei, Casmir Agbo Uchenna, Simon Zubairu Bamga, Abduljamid Sa’ad Suleiman, Emmanuel Agida, Auwala Ahmed, Ularama Jubrila, Grace Zafara Posat, Suleiman Abdurahman Abdul, Ajibade Adekunle Samson, Alexander Emmanuel Ombugu, Elizabeth Ativie, Godwin Jioke, Airen Igbinedion, Osas Frank, Kennedy Ahanotu, Dr. Ayo Olurunfemi, Abayomi Arabambi, Umar Faruk Ibrahim, Auwal Tafoki, and Obiora Ifoh.
The faction did not immediately provide further details on the duration of the suspension or the specific offences committed by the affected members.
