Barrister Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the Labour Party, is leading a party delegation to a meeting with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and leaders of other political parties.
The meeting, part of INEC’s regular quarterly consultative forum, aims to discuss developments within the political landscape and plans for future elections.
The Commission’s announcement that it did not monitor the national convention that re-elected Abure as the party’s national chairman has led to speculations about his recognition as the party’s leader.

Furthermore, a battle for supremacy has emerged between the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Abure leadership, with the NLC insisting that Abure’s tenure has expired and he is no longer the National Chairman.
