Popular Afrobeats star D’banj has said that the entertainment industry will keep struggling without stronger collaboration among key players. He recently revealed that entertainers must work together for the Nigerian entertainment scene to progress.
Speaking on Day 2 of Entertainment Week Africa (EWA), which runs from November 18 to 23 in Lagos, D’banj shared that the lack of togetherness and alliance is holding the industry back.

According to him, as soon as key players decide to unite and collaborate, development can be achieved quickly.
D’banj stated that he is always excited to see industry players come together to discuss the way forward.
“The problem, we are not together. Like no alliance… and that’s a major thing because when we’re all, when we work together, collectively, we get there faster and we’re able to provide better and faster solutions.
So that’s what I see here today and that’s why I’m excited to see the industry, at least some of the industry, gather and then speak about the problems when we already have the solution. I love that,” he said.
The “Oliver Twist” crooner further noted that Afrobeat is for Africa and the sound remains the future.
He concluded by saying that he is super glad to be part of the current Afrobeat movement alongside his talented colleagues.
“Afrobeat is the future. Africa is the future. Afrobeat is for Africa. It’s right now. It’s us. It’s what we’ve been preaching for the past two decades. I’m glad to be alive in our time.
We have the richest natural resources when it comes to Africa and that’s what we have with Afrobeat. So watch out,” he added.
