Lagos Assembly approves 22 Sanwo-Olu’s commissioner-nominees, rejects 17

On Wednesday, the Lagos State House of Assembly approved 22 of the 39 cabinet nominations recently submitted by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Rt Hon Mudashiru Obasa, who presided over the sitting, said that the confirmations were made after a special committee, headed by the House Chief Whip, Hon. Fatai Mojeed, conducted a thorough and extensive screening of the nominees.

He praised the committee’s efficiency and advised the confirmed nominees to never forget that they are working for the State’s citizens and not for themselves.

He also assured them that the House will keep working hard for the good of the State.

Obasa called for a voice vote after he had mentioned each nominee by name.

However, 17 nominations were voted down by the legislature.
