Manchester City legend, Sergio Aguero has come out to claim that Chelsea wanted to sign him before he joined City. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, after Atletico Madrid’s clash against Chelsea in the Champions League in November 2009, his agent told him Chelsea was interested in his services, but the interest did not last long.
Aguero added that Lampard also told him when he joined City that he wanted Chelsea to sign him.
His words, “After that game, maybe two months after, my agent said to me: ‘Chelsea are interested’. I had just three years at Atletico Madrid. I mean, I loved the Premier League, to play there, but Chelsea were never interested after. At first, yes, but then my agent said: ‘Okay, maybe not’.
I spoke about that with Frank Lampard because Frank Lampard played at Manchester City. He said when I played against him, he told the staff at Chelsea to sign Aguero.”

Bruce Buck, who served as chairman since 2003, was replaced by Boehly, while long-serving club director and de facto sporting director Marina Granovskaia left, as did Petr Čech from the role of technical and performance advisor.
