Laurent Blanc’s agent has played down reports the Paris Saint-Germain manager is set to leave the club this summer.
Blanc has won three Ligue 1 titles in as many seasons in charge of PSG and completed a clean sweep of domestic trophies for the past two campaigns but has failed to guide them beyond the quarterfinals of the Champions League, a competition the club’s owners have ambitions to win.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi was critical of their performance in Europe this season, describing it as a “failure” and spoke of “a new cycle” starting this summer.
But Jean-Pierre Bernes, Blanc’s agent, insists no word has come from the PSG hierarchy regarding the manager’s position.
He told Le Parisien: “Laurent Blanc is on holidays at the moment. He hasn’t yet had a call or a discussion with his directors. Neither have I.
“So for the moment we’re waiting. If there’s a change of policy at PSG, the directors will have to come and discuss it.”
