The leadership tussle within the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) resurfaced on Monday as Chief Paulinus Akpeki, Vice Chairman of the Delta Central Senatorial District, allegedly received a report from the Olorogun O’Tega Emerhor-led reconciliation committee on behalf of the State Working Committee (SWC).
This development sparked a strong reaction from the acting Chairman of the Delta APC, Chief Francis Obigbor, who criticized Akpeki’s actions, describing them as unauthorized and a usurpation of power.
“Chief Akpeki has no authority to receive any report or present the same before the National Chairman.

His actions are a clear usurpation of power and a deliberate attempt to cause confusion within the party,” Obigbor stated in a press release.
The acting Chairman also distanced the party from Akpeki’s actions, urging the National Chairman and the National Working Committee (NWC) to disregard any reports or submissions emanating from him.
Addressing party members and stakeholders, Obigbor called for calm and unity, saying, “We urge all our party faithful and stakeholders to remain calm and not be distracted by this unauthorized action.”
The Delta APC leadership crisis continues to pose a challenge to internal cohesion ahead of upcoming political activities.
