Just when Lil Wayne fans were confident that Birdman would work with him to finally release Tha Carter V, everything seems to be turned upside down.
Worse, having intense drama with Birdman means Lil Wayne’s Weezyana Fest 3 in New Orleans on August 25 could be affected. For example, fans of Lil Wayne that anticipated Weezyana Fest 3 would be like previous years might be expecting performances with Lil Wayne by Cash Money Records artists like the Hot Boys.
Furthermore, drama between Birdman and Lil Wayne may jeopardize Lil Wayne’s chance to drop Tha Carter V at Weezyana Fest 3. After all, Lil Wayne will need to have legal support to release Tha Carter V without getting blowback from Birdman or Cash Money Records.
For now, it can be assumed that Birdman and Lil Wayne are on the outs for good, and Lil Wayne made sure everyone knew where he stands in the argument.
For example, on June 12, Billboard and others were quick to report that Lil Wayne was telling a Las Vegas audience that he could care less about Birdman.
The expletive statement made at Drai’s Beachclub and Nightclub on June 10 was very clear and direct, and it came at the tail-end of what seemed like a resolution between Birdman and Lil Wayne.
About a day before Lil Wayne unleashed about Birdman to his Las Vegas fans, Birdman may have fanned the flames of Lil Wayne’s anger by posting a picture.
According to State of Hip Hop, around June 9, Birdman posted a picture from the Hot Boys days when Lil Wayne first joined forces with Cash Money Records, and it is possible that this reminder may have incensed Lil Wayne.
What might be unclear to fans is that it looked like Rick Ross immediately showed support for Lil Wayne dissing Birdman. Instead, Rick Ross burned Lil Wayne’s Cash Money Records contract in his new video for the album Idols Become Rivals because Rick Ross has his own beef with Birdman.
Hip Hop DX explains that burning Lil Wayne’s contract was Rick Ross’ retaliation for Birdman disrespecting Rick Ross in a recent “music visual” with Sy Ari Da Kid.
One person that is chiming in about the Lil Wayne and Birdman beef is their old friend from New Orleans, DJ Khaled. According to Dance Hall Hip Hop, DJ Khaled stepped up to say that the fallout between Birdman, Rick Ross, and Lil Wayne needs to come to an end.
Ultimately, even though he himself has had a falling out with Cash Money Records, DJ Khaled hoped Rick Ross and Lil Wayne could work it out with Birdman, and DJ Khaled called Birdman his “friend.”
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Lil Wayne’s Weezyana Fest 3 will be held on August 25 and details about performers are still to be announced.
