Liverpool Needs More Signings – Andoni Iraola

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has admitted that the club needs more new signings this summer. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.

Emphasizing that certain positions are crying out for reinforcement after a string of key departures and a spate of injuries, Iraola stated that LFC clearly needs another winger before the window closes.

Andoni added that Alisson must be retained after the team lost experienced players like Salah, Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson.

His words, “It is difficult to determine all the team’s needs precisely while the transfer market is still open, as you must always remain open to opportunities that could help improve the squad.

There are clear positions that we know we need to reinforce. For example, we definitely need to sign a winger.

In other positions, we have to assess the options available in the market, the cost of the signings, as well as the level of the players we already have. There are some positions that seem complicated, because we have injured players whose abilities we trust, but the situation is still far from ideal.

I believe Alisson will be an extremely important element in helping the new players adapt, whether they are experienced ones or young elements.

We need role-model figures inside the dressing room, such as Virgil van Dijk, Alisson and Joe Gomez, players who have spent many years at the club. I am confident that we will receive this kind of support.”

The capacity of the stadium at the time was 20,000, although only 100 spectators attended Liverpool’s first match at Anfield.
