Arsenal is slowly becoming the new home for African players, Dele Olorundare has said. He recently revealed this after the unveiling of DRC Congo player, Albert Lokonga from Anderlecht.
According to him, it is great to see the Gunners improving their squad with more African players and he even thinks the club should be renamed Africa FC.
Dele added that Lokonga’s move proves that the biggest teams across the globe still trust African talents.
His words, “It’s good to see the Gunners improving their squad with more African players. I think Arsenal should be renamed Africa FC.”
“Lokonga’s move to Mikel Arteta’s squad is a testimony that the club trust Africans with their bid to win laurels in the next season.”
“There used to be a time when players from Africa were not considered good for even the substitute bench of a second division club in Europe.”
“That appears to have changed and I can only hope that African teams take advantage of this to build a very solid squad to do well at the 2022 Fifa World Cup.”
“If I could give my life for my national team, I would give it, but what happened was left [out on the pitch], there’s nothing to it.”
