Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez has admitted that he is sad to lose his shirt number to Rodri. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
Stressing that the number 16 jersey means a whole lot to him, Fermin stated that while he is excited for the future, moving on from his previous digits is very bittersweet.

The Spaniard added that having a World Cup and Ballon d’Or winner will go a long way towards driving Barcelona closer to the biggest trophies.
His words, “The number seven is a one that I’ve always liked and that has been worn by some of the greatest players in our history.
Since it was available, I asked for it and I’m very happy to wear it.
It makes me a bit sad to give up the number 16 because it had a special place in my heart after these seasons with the first team. But I’m sure it will be in good hands.
He’s a great player. Ballon d’Or winner and world champion. I have him as a teammate on the national team and he’s the best midfielder in the world. He’s going to give us a lot.”
On Alvarez, “I like him, he’s a great player, but ultimately he’s an Atlético de Madrid player. I can’t say much more.
I can only say that in our squad, with the way we play, I think he would fit in very well.”
