Manchester United will offer Luke Shaw in part-exchange for Danny Rose, according to reports.
Shaw has been hindered with injuries and fitness issues in the past 18 months and has played just 48 minutes for the United first-team this season.
Jose Mourinho has always said Shaw has a future at the club, but speculation continues to swirl around the defender.
Reports now claim United will use Shaw to lure Tottenham star Rose to the club.
Rose was left out of Tottenham’s squad for their North London derby with Arsenal sparking new links to Old Trafford.
Mauricio Pochettino insisted Rose was left out as he is still regaining his fitness after a long lay-off.
Rose has missed ten months due to injury and has only just returned to playing football.
United are ready to pay £40million for Rose, in a deal that would include Shaw moving to White Hart Lane.
Tottenham have repeatably denied there has been a bust-up between Rose and Pochettino, but it seems United believe now is the time to act.
United are prepared to double Rose’s current wages which stands at around £65,000 a week.
Jamie Redknapp believes Rose has already been approached by other clubs as his situation at Spurs continues to deteriorate.
