Former Manchester United player and defended his ex teammate, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after recent criticisms from ex boss, Louis van Gaal.
LVG said recently that he sees no difference between the playing style of Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, tagging both “parking the bus.”
His words were, “The coach after me [Mourinho] changed to park the bus tactics and played on the counter. Now there is another coach who parks the bus and plays on the counter,”
“The main difference between Mourinho and Solskjaer is that Solskjaer is winning.
“If you think it is more exciting than my boring attacking, OK. But it is not my truth.
“They can also win the Champions League because they play a defensive system and it is very difficult to beat them, which, whether you like it or not, is the result of Mourinho’s work.”
“When I looked at what Louis said I had a little chuckle. It all depends what you perceive to be attacking football,” Cole said at the launch of the International Champions Cup in Cardiff.
“Van Gaal came in and had his opportunity and the club decided they wanted to move on. He had his chance to play attacking football.
But Andy Cole has said LVG’s claims is from a bitter heart.
His words, “When I looked at what Louis said I had a little chuckle. It all depends what you perceive to be attacking football,”
“Van Gaal came in and had his opportunity and the club decided they wanted to move on. He had his chance to play attacking football.
“I think a lot of people would say that what we’ve had over the past five years, it is a little bit more attacking than what we have been used to.
“I would give Ole the job. We all know this is possibly the most important appointment since Sir Alex left.”
