Popular singer, Rema has come out to say that he did not pursue a music career because of money. He recently had his say during an interview with the Korty EO, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, he has never done music because of the riches that come with being a successful singer, and even when he made freestyles to get signed, it was never about the money.
Rema added that he would have kept pushing his music in the corner alongside his day job if he didn’t get signed.
His words, “If music didn’t work, I will still be pushing that p in the corner while hustling, you understand.
Even at that point where I was doing freestyles, I didn’t really need to do a freestyle because I needed money. I had money. I was actually good.
I’m inspired by Burna [Boy] because of his story. Fela [Kuti] inspires me. Kanye West [inspires me] because of how far he goes in terms of his creativity, production. I really like Wiz [kid] because of how he carries himself.”
