Election officials in Mali cited “technical reasons” for delaying the country’s scheduled February presidential vote.
This was declared on Monday by the interim government.
The junta stated that the dispute with the running business caused issues with updating the voting roll and the census database.

A new date for the election will be announced at a later time.
More than two years have passed since Mali’s military took over, and previous transition schedules have been pushed back.
Both the local elections scheduled for June 2023 and the constitutional referendum scheduled for February 2023 were delayed.
It has been reported that the security situation in northern and central Mali is quite terrible.
