Manchester Best City I’ve Lived In – Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Zlatan-IbrahimovicZlatan Ibrahimovic has said that Manchester has been the best city he has lived in so far — beating the likes of Paris, Milan and Barcelona.

Manchester United striker Ibrahimovic, 35, joked that he does not have high expectations though, coming from Sweden.

Speaking about Manchester, Ibrahimovic told Inside United: “I heard a lot of things that the city is this, the city is that, the weather is like this and the weather is like that, but so far everything has been good. The city is the best city so far.

“I come from Sweden, I don’t have big expectations when it comes to — how do you say it? — outside football. I’m pretty simple, I’m a family guy. For me, they come in the first phase, the rest is less important.

“For example, when I was living in Paris, in four years I didn’t go to see the Eiffel Tower once — I wanted them to change the Eiffel for my statue but they didn’t do it. Maybe if they do it now, I will go to visit.”

Ibrahimovic made a promising start to life as a United striker, scoring five goals in five matches, but then went on a barren run of one goal in 11 games. The former Sweden striker got back on track on Sunday, ending his drought by striking twice in a 3-1 win at Swansea City.

Discussing the adjustment to English football, he said: “When you play a game here, there is no team controlling it. It’s back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. That’s the way the game is. You have to get used to it.”

Ibrahimovic also said he is settling in as part of the group at United, adding: “Every day that goes by, the more you get to know each other and it becomes like a family. I know what I need to do to get the maximum out of my teammates and the same thing on the other side — they know what they need to bring that out of me.

“The pieces are there. We just need to put the puzzle together.”
