Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has come out to insist that the club is more than happy winning the treble. This is coming after Newcastle ended their dream of winning the quadruple this season, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, many people seem to think City always targets winning the quadruple every season, but the fact is that a treble is more than enough for his team.
Pep added that his boys played an incredible game vs Newcastle, but it just wasn’t meant to be.
His words, “You think the target was the quadruple? We are more than happy with the treble.”
“We played an incredible game. They increased after the break and were more aggressive. They scored a goal. Last season we were out against Southampton and not there but tonight we were. Congratulations to Newcastle.”
“Very good. It was really, really good. We will see. Go home and rest and we see [for next few games].”
“I leave comfortable with how we played, no injuries and minutes for Mateo [Kovacic] and Jack [Grealish],” he added, before saying of Bobb: “Brilliant performance. It was perfect.”
