Manchester United Or Liverpool Could Sign Rakitic In Summer

Manchester United and Liverpool will have the chance to sign Ivan Rakitic for €25million in the summer, with the Sevilla midfielder set to sign a new contract with a revised buyout clause, according to Spanish publication Marca.

The Croatian playmaker’s current deal – which has a €40million buyout clause – runs until 2015, but the Spanish club are ready to offer him revised terms, which could prompt an exit from the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium at the end of the season.

Earlier this month, the Daily Express credited Red Devils boss David Moyes with an interest in bringing Rakitic to Old Trafford, as he looks to add a creative spark to his midfield ranks.

Liverpool have also been mooted as admirers of the 25-year-old, who has scored eight goals and made six assists in 16 La Liga games in 2013/14, ranking him statistically as the third best player in Spain, behind only Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
