
TP Mazembe beat FC MK Etancheite 3-0 on Wednesday (11 June 2014) at the Kalamondo Stadium in Lubumbashi to win the 2014 DR Congo Super Cup.
The one-off between the league champions (TP Mazembe) and the winners of the Coupe du Congo (FC MK Etancheite) officially wraps up the Congolese season.
The encounter, a repeat of the 2013 clash also saw the return of midfielder Bedi Mbenza to the Mazembe fold after a stint abroad.
Malian Adama Traore fired ‘Les Corbeaux’ into the lead after 20 minutes before Jonathan Bolingo strengthened the lead on the half hour-mark.
Ghana-born winger, Solomon Asante sealed victory with the third goal on 54 minutes to ensure a double triumph for the Lubumbashi-based club, also involved at the group phase of the 2014 Orange CAF Champions League.
Mazembe were 100,000 US Dollars richer by the feat that further authenticates their status as the most decorated Congolese club.
