Manchester United have come out to confirmed that Scott McTominay is set for an injury layoff. This is coming after his shocking omission from Scotland’s squad for the September international break.
According to a recent statement, Scott recently underwent surgery for an ongoing groin injury that was causing significant pain while he played.
MUFC added that other treatment options were tried in pre-season, but surgery remained the best solution.
It read, “Scott has undergone surgery for an ongoing groin injury that was causing significant pain when playing.”
“Having tried all other treatment options in pre-season, surgery was deemed necessary to resolve the issue.”
“We hope to have him back soon.”
