    Member State Benefitted From West African Health Organization’ Support – Dr Ehanire

    The Minister of Health Dr Osagie Ehanire was present at the COVID19 Ministerial Coordinating Committee Meeting On Health of the Economic Community of West African States.

    The Minister while speaking stated that “we have worked hard to flatten the curve of the pandemic in our region. Dr Ehanire stated that ECOWAS member states have also benefitted from the West African Health Organization’s support efforts in conjunction with technical & financial partners.

    Dr Ehanire reiterated that Nigeria has dialogued stakeholders to follow measures aimed at curtailing the spread of the pandemic. In his words “We have engaged relevant sectors, stakeholders & partners to sustain measures aimed at controlling the pandemic while working quietly to reopen our borders”.

    He thereby thanked the Director General of the West African Health Organization, Professor Stanley Okolo, and his team for their support to member states in the distribution of equipment & supplies required for effective response.

    He thereby urged member states not to relent in their compliance with the coronavirus preventive measures so as to prevent a rise in the pandemic. He as well encouraged risk communication & community engagement.
