Actress Mercy Aigbe is in the news again after engaging a follower on social media in a no-holds-barred battle over her role as an Ambassador for widows.
This is coming days after her estranged husband, Lanre Gentry, aimed a broadside at government on Father’s Day for lumping his wife in with widows while he was still alive.
The actress, who recently stunned fans by coming out as a victim of domestic abuse, took to Instagram to announce details of her engagements in her new role.
Looking chic in a colourful Ankara getup, the Benin-born ex-model heartily revealed she was on her way to her hometown for a Widow’s Summit scheduled for tomorrow.
But her mood quickly went south after an Instagram user, belemastowe, pointed out the irony of her being at a widow’s summit when her husband was very much alive.
Mercy was having none of it, stating that it was too early for trolls to flood her page, to which the follower responded by questioning her sense of humour.
The initial sparring soon delved into heavy punches, with Mercy questioning the IG user’s IQ, with the user buttressing the point that her being at a widow’s summit was akin to a square peg in a round hole.
