Barcelona will not play Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta when they begin the New Year in the Copa del Rey against Celta Vigo on Thursday.
Barca have not played since they beat Real Madrid on Dec. 23, with the majority of the squad given a week off following that Clasico win.
Ernesto Valverde had hinted that neither would be involved in Vigo, saying on Wednesday that he would not take any unnecessary risks with the duo.
Paco Alcacer and Samuel Umtiti are both still missing with injuries, while Rafinha, Gerard Deulofeu and Arda Turan have all been omitted from the squad.
Barca will host Celta in the second leg of the round-of-16 tie next Thursday.
