The Defence Headquarters announced on Friday that operational adjustments have been made by the military to prioritize the protection of farmers in Nigeria during the rainy season.
Major Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, made this known in Abuja while providing updates on the operations of the armed forces.
Buba stated that the armed forces had intensified intelligence collection efforts aimed at targeting terrorists and striking them in their hideouts.

“Winning the war against the terrorists is non-negotiable,” he asserted.
Buba reported that troops had neutralized 220 terrorists, arrested 395 suspects, and rescued 202 kidnapped hostages in various operations over the past seven days.
Additionally, troops recovered 432 assorted weapons, including 9,004 rounds of assorted ammunition, three PKT guns, one G3 rifle, 18 locally-fabricated guns, and 83 AK47 rifles.
Other recovered items include 5,893 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 2,064 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, 401 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 200 rounds of 7.62x54mm ammunition, 154 rounds of 7.62x51mm ammunition, 195 live cartridges, and 17 magazines.
