The Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, has praised the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members for their essential role in ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of citizens.
Speaking at the presentation of a report on the NYSC’s role in improving policing in Nigeria in Abuja, Senator Gaidam emphasized the importance of the corps members’ services in the ministry.
He stated that their dedication to serving and protecting the country demonstrates their commitment to honor and integrity.

Senator Gaidam highlighted the significance of the NYSC programme as a catalyst for accelerated national development.
He urged the corps members to take the nation’s call to selfless service seriously, noting that they play a crucial role in shaping Nigeria’s future.
Addressing the corps members, Senator Gaidam said, “Remember that you are not just serving the Ministry of Police Affairs; you are serving the people of Nigeria.
Your actions, no matter how small, can create positive change and impact the lives of those around you. Stay focused, stay dedicated, and strive to be your best version.”
He also emphasized the importance of the corps members’ role in ensuring the success of democratic governance in Nigeria.
He urged them to champion the fight against social vices such as cybercrime, electoral malpractices, and political violence, and not to allow themselves to be recruited by agents of destabilization.
The Director-General of NYSC, represented by the Assistant Director of Human Resources Management in the Federal Capital Territory, Mrs. Chika Chris-Moneke, commended the conducive atmosphere created for the corps members to contribute to policing in the country.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Police Affairs, Dr. Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, acknowledged the commitment, zeal, and courage of the corps members serving in the ministry.
He praised the directors for mentoring the corps members and enabling them to bring innovation, youthfulness, and technology to the policing system.
