Gov. Darius Ishaku of Taraba on Monday said the Jalingo Ultra Modern Abattoir project would be completed soon.
Ishaku made the promise in Barkin Dutse, Ardo Kola Local Ggovernment Area at a stakeholders meeting in continuation of his ‘’Thank you tour’’ of local government areas in the state.
Ishaku, who ended the tour of northern zone ofthe state with a meeting with stakeholders from Ardo Kola and Jalingo local government areas, said when completed, the abattoir would the people better.
The governor also told the people that his administration was doing its best possible to serve them better in all spheres of human endeavour.
“The projects you want me to do are many, but at my age I can’t stand here and lie to you.
“There are no funds, but I will look at your requests critically and execute those projects that are of priority now.
“We can’t be dependent on federation allocation from Abuja to service our bills and execute projects.
‘’That is why I embarked on the Green House project which will soon begin to generate revenue,” he said.
Earlier, state Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Victor Kona had called on the people of the two local government areas to support the governor and the party for the development of the state.
“I want to warn the stakeholders from Jalingo to do their homework well and mobilise support for the party in future elections.
“You cannot be complaining that the party is not rewarding you when you did not vote for it.
“Jalingo has always been in opposition and it is time for you to get your people back in the mainstream,” he said.
Some stakeholders also called on the governor to open up rural roads and sink boreholes among other projects for them.
