Manchester United legend, Dwight Yorke has come out to urge the club to part ways with Erik ten Hag and appoint Zinedine Zidane. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, Erik ten Hag is a good manager, but not an elite one, so it is best to go for someone like Zidane who can attract the biggest players in the world and get everyone back onside.

Yorke added that Sir Jim needs to be ruthless enough to make tough decisions in the best interest of the club.
His words, “Erik ten Hag is a good manager but there is a difference between being a good manager and being an elite manager. United need a manager that comes with a pedigree. Until United get that manager in, they will struggle, there is an ideal candidate out there who can take the club forward with a huge lift and match that expectation. That manager is Zinedine Zidane. Ten Hag hasn’t got it in his locker to attract big names, Zidane is an elite manager who can attract the biggest players in the world and get everyone back onside. The biggest names in world football will bend over backwards to come and play for Zidane if he’s at Manchester United. At the moment United don’t have the pulling power to get in the players that will play attractive football and win major trophies again.
You don’t get to be one of the wealthiest men in the UK if you aren’t ruthless and I think Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be the same at Manchester United when it comes to managers. He is obviously very successful and you don’t get to the top just by being nice. You have to be ruthless in business and football is now the same.
There will be no hiding place at United for Erik ten Hag and even though he has been given a new deal, the club are expecting improved results very quickly. They have now lost to Brighton and scraped past Fulham and I expect Sir Jim Ratcliffe won’t hesitate to make a change.”
WOW.
Manchester United Football Club, commonly referred to as Man United or simply United, is a professional football club based in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, England. The club competes in the Premier League, the top division in the English football league system.
Nicknamed the Red Devils, they were founded as Newton Heath LYR Football Club in 1878, but changed their name to Manchester United in 1902. After a spell playing in Clayton, Manchester, the club moved to their current stadium, Old Trafford, in 1910.
Alex Ferguson and his assistant Archie Knox arrived from Aberdeen on the day of Atkinson’s dismissal, and guided the club to an 11th-place finish in the league. Despite a second-place finish in 1987–88, the club was back in 11th place the following season. Reportedly on the verge of being dismissed, Ferguson’s job was saved by victory over Crystal Palace in the 1990 FA Cup final.
The following season, Manchester United claimed their first UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup title. That triumph allowed the club to compete in the European Super Cup for the first time, where United beat European Cup holders Red Star Belgrade 1–0 at Old Trafford. The club appeared in two consecutive League Cup finals in 1991 and 1992, beating Nottingham Forest 1–0 in the second to win that competition for the first time as well.
