Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire has come out to say that he doesn’t understand why he was not awarded a penalty vs West Brom. He recently revealed that he was so certain that it was a penalty, so he doesn’t understand why VAR was even needed.
According to him, MUFC cannot be relying on VAR decisions because it seems like they are not favoring the club at the moment, so the boys just have to concentrate on improving.
He added that the results have been inexcusable lately, and things need to turn around for the club to end the season on a high note.
His words, “We were so certain it was a penalty. Not sure why they needed to send him [the referee] to a monitor. The clip was minimal but it was a penalty,”
“It seems like the decisions are going against us. We can’t be relying on VAR decisions – we have to improve.”
