Sunderland have completed the season-long loan signing of French midfielder Yann MVila.
The 25-year-old made over 100 appearances for Rennes- the French club where he began his playing career.
M’Villa had been linked with Real Madrid and Liverpool in the past, before moving to Russia to play for Rubin Kazan.
He spent last season on-loan at Italian club Inter Milan, a spell which was truncated by the coach Roberto Mancini side.
“I’m very happy,” M’Villa told the club’s website. “I had a very good feeling training with the team; every player welcomed me and the feeling was very good with them so I’m excited for the start of the season.

“I’ve also wanted to play in the Premier League for a long time so I’m very happy to be here.”
M’Villa, who has been capped 22 times by France, becomes Sunderland’s fifth signing of the transfer window, following Jermain Lens, Younes Kaboul, Adam Matthews andSebastian Coates.
