Popular singer John Legend has said that his son’s siblings don’t know he is battling Type 1 diabetes. Recall that the “All Of Me” singer recently revealed that his boy, Miles, was diagnosed with the chronic autoimmune disease.
Speaking during an interview with PEOPLE, Legend shared that Miles’ younger siblings currently have no idea that he is going through a health challenge.

According to him, his siblings only ask questions when they see the medical devices he has to wear daily, but they still have no clue what is going on with their brother.
“The younger ones don’t really know what’s going on, but when they see the devices and things he has to wear, they sometimes have questions,” he said.
He disclosed that his diabetic son is becoming braver by the day as he battles the serious disease.
Stressing that the entire family will not stop rallying around him, the singer vowed that his home will build the required determination to beat the sickness.
“His condition is also building grit in him, and as a family, I think it’s building it in us as well because we are all rallying together to support him,” he added.
Type 1 diabetes is a chronic autoimmune disease in which the immune system destroys insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. As a result, the pancreas is unable to create insulin.
The Grammy award-winning artist recently attended a summer DYF diabetes camp in Yosemite with 7-year-old Miles, where he got to engage with kids his own age and counsellors with diabetes.
The camp was set up to enhance the quality of life for youths living with diabetes through education and community engagement.
