Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has come out to say that his team was hungover during their loss to Manchester United in the FA Cup final last season. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, his game plan was simply not good vs MUFC and even the players knew it, so he always had the feeling that it won’t be a good match.
Pep added that he accepted his mistake after the loss and everyone moved on from it.
His words, “This is the news, not that we lose, but how long it has been since we lose. Of course, with the FA Cup final we were a little bit hungover, but it is good news.
It’s my mistake – the game plan was not good. The players know it, the reason why. Tactically, it was not good. I had the feeling it was not good today. You plan a game for different positions, but didn’t work – it’s as simple as that.”

That triumph allowed the club to compete in the European Super Cup for the first time, where United beat European Cup holders Red Star Belgrade 1–0 at Old Trafford. The club appeared in two consecutive League Cup finals in 1991 and 1992, beating Nottingham Forest 1–0 in the second to win that competition for the first time as well.
