Football manager, Rafael Benitez has come out to admit that his history with Liverpool stopped him from taking certain crucial decisions during his tenure at Everton. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.

According to him, he immediately realized that there were lots of things to be changed at Everton when he was appointed, but he could not do the changes straight away because he was a former Liverpool boss.
Benitez added that if he was at a different club, he would have gone ahead with the alterations asap.
His words, “So I realised we had to change things inside, but I couldn’t do it straight away because I was a former Red and it could be seen as ‘oh, he’s come in to change our club’,”
“In another club, I would have made those decisions. I did it in the past, because you know very clearly that is the way to improve, but there at Everton I couldn’t do it.”
