Super Eagles manager, Gernot Rohr has come out to say that his team missed Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi vs the Central African Republic. He recently revealed this after the defeat in Thursday’s 2022 Fifa World Cup qualification match.
According to him, the players are still very disappointed in the dressing room because they cannot understand how they managed to lose the game.
Rohr added that his boys dominated possession really well and had several opportunities to score, but it just wasn’t meant to be.
His words, “The players are still disappointed in the dressing room and still not understanding why we could lose this match.”
“When we analyzed it, we dominated possession of the ball, we had several opportunities to score but we did not score and very often in football, there was a counter and our opponents scored.”
“Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, we lost. We had the opportunity to score but we couldn’t.”
