The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has appealed to both state governors and the federal government to provide palliatives to students across the country to help alleviate the current economic hardship.
In a statement released in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State, the National President of NANS, Pedro Obi, highlighted the need for immediate action to address the challenges faced by students.
Obi specifically called for the provision of free shuttle buses to assist students who are unable to afford transportation fees, noting that many students have resorted to trekking due to financial constraints.

Obi expressed concern over the high cost of living, stating that the current economic situation has made it difficult for students to continue their education.
He emphasized the importance of government intervention to support students during these challenging times.
According to Obi, providing palliatives and grants to students would help alleviate the financial strain they are facing.
He emphasized the need for targeted assistance tailored to support students’ well-being and academic success.
Obi also called for collaboration between the government and student representatives to ensure that government resources are effectively deployed to meet students’ needs.
He emphasized the importance of open dialogue and partnership in implementing policies that benefit students across the nation.
