The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nasarawa State has spoken out against skewed media coverage of election petitions.
On Friday, Hon. Francis Orogu, chairman of the PDP in the state, issued a statement condemning the use of “fabricated narratives” to influence public opinion.
In the ongoing governorship election petition in Lafia, he voiced worry over the possible falsification of critical witness statements.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the governor of the state have used similar techniques in the past, as Orogu pointed out.
But Orogu said the PDP wouldn’t bother refuting false statements produced by state propaganda sources or slanted social media accounts.
