The fourth session of the 7th National Assembly of the fourth Republic has resumed its plenary on Tuesday June 24, 2014 after two weeks break with a call for the only item on the Senate Order Paper which was the announcement of the demise of Dahiru Awaisu Kuta (Senator) to be tabled before the distinguished Senators by the Leader of the Senate, Victor Ndoma Egba (Senator). The valedictory speeches for the Late Dahiru Kuta were subsequently slated for Wednesday June 25, 2014.
Also, the plenary of the House of Representatives had on its notice paper five bills for consideration which included: the Bill for an Act to amend the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) Act No.14 of 1964 sponsored by Eddie Mbadiwe; the Bill for an Act to amend the Federal Capital Territory Customary Court Act Cap ‘F’ 37 sponsored by Ossai Nicholas Ossai and the Bill for an Act to repeal the Miscellaneous Offences Act, Cap ‘M’17 LFN 2004 sponsored by Tajudeen Ayo Yusuf.
Others were: the Bill for an Act to Establish the Constituencies Development Fund for the purpose of even development of all constituencies in the Federation and for other connected purposes sponsored by Ben Nwankwo and the Bill for an Act to regulate the Disposal of Waste by Industries or Companies which aimed to prohibit environmental pollution, prescribe penalties for offenders and other related matters and was sponsored by Mashood Mustapha.
