The Nigeria Center for Disease Control has yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the University College Hospital Ibadan. This was done by the NCDC with the aim to expand the NCDC laboratories accross the countries.
In the course of the visit the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, inspected the “Olayiwola Oluwasola Special Diagnostic Laboratory”, during which they took a survey of the centre.
The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Otegbayo alongside other senior staff of the hospital led the NCDC officials on a guided tour of the diagnostic laboratory.
Among the NCDC team was Mr Olajide Martins, an official of the NCDC who led the inspection and disclosed that the inspection was carried out to commission the Capacity Strengthening of NCDC Network of Laboratories in Nigeria programme.
The Chief Medical Director used the opportunity to thank NCDC for its support to the Hospital during the covid-19 pandemic.
